PRIVATE PRESERVE

What is it?

A simple gadget straight from “best-practice” modern winery techniques; a “gas blanket”.

It is the oxygen in air which spoils the wine. A squirt of inert gas into the bottle (and replace the cork) displaces the oxygen and forms a perfect seal against oxidation. It will be as fresh as the day you squirted it for weeks or months, let alone the next day!

Why choose it?

Private Preserve Testimonials;

· “The Private Preserve gas cylinder came out as the best way to keep our three types of wine fresher for longer”. Decanter Magazine Test – June 2008.

· “I have found Private Preserve to be a brilliant device, the best I've tested.” Malcolm Gluck, Superplonk

"The most successful method of preserving a wine at home is to use a gadget called Private Preserve. I'll sometimes have as many as ten bottles on the go all at once so that I can match a glass or two with whatever dish I'm serving - and no wasted wine." Olly Smith, The Daily Mail June 2010

" The best such gadget I've come across" Jonathan Ray, Daily Telegraph  19th June 2010

Alternatives

· Vacuum pumps are far from effective with only 65-70% of air being removed from the bottle and leak after a few days and, worse still for the wine, forces out some of the aromas whilst leaving an unpleasant rubber smell on the first glass from the rubber seal.

· Verre de Vin/Pro Saver? Also use vacuum method, but very expensive and take up space.
