A cheeky 15% of the blend has been aged in new oak barrels giving this ubiquitous varietal a top quality feel; I'm talking Chablis leaness combined with the hallmark Verus purity of fruit. 100% Welschriesling. Highly sought-after in its homeland, so I was glad to secure just a few cases of this delicious dessert wine on our shipment. Lovely clean fruit and sweet without being cloying. "Dried fruits and walnuts" says Danilo. He made it so he should know.

Jancis Robinson FT 10th October; Recommended Refreshers.  Lovely floral scents of muscat and orange followed on the palate by a fresh and well-balanced crispness which beautifully complements the not-quite-sweet mouthfeel. (Yes, that sounds rather confusing, but I urge you to try it with maybe a citrus pudding, or just on its own, well chilled on a warm summer's afternoon.)
