New vintage just in. Diane and Mathieu’s range of estate wines is now wholly organic. Fresh and fruity with good structure. Do I detect a whiff of strawberries?

  • Birgi, Trisole Grillo, Sicily

I am really enjoying the fresh, tropical fruity, citrus flavours of this Sicilian white varietal. Grapefruit was my first note, but soft not sharp, then it ends with a nice, almost bitter finish. A lovely new addition to our range and only 12.5% ABV

  • Chateau Lamothe-Vincent, Bordeaux Sauvignon Blanc Reserve, France

Too soon for any medals yet, but only a matter of time!

Fabien & Christophe’s super white was absolutely stunning when we first tasted their 2006 and now the 2022 has arrived it is also a stunner, possibly even better! year after year stunning consistency. 90% crisp, zingy gooseberry Sauvignon Blanc with a ‘lichette’ of Semillon to round it off. Aging on the lees for around three months adds an extra dimension. I really hope you will enjoy this.

  • Chateau Lamothe-Vincent, Bordeaux Merlot Reserve, France

Gold Medals at  Brussels and Gilbert & Gaillard.

The classic Bordeaux blend, of course, is Cabernet/Merlot, and here we have a classic indeed. Merlot dominated, soft but very well-structured, ripe fruit.

  • Birgi, Kinisia Merlot/Nero d’Avola, Sicily

This is a really successful blend of Nero d’Avola and Merlot bringing out the best of both varietals in a wine that is better than the sum of its two parts. The lovely rich but slighly light NdA bulked up by rich and soft Merlot.  This differs from the Passole in that it is predominantly Merlot backed up by NdA rather than the other way round. Then it spends eight months in oak barrels giving it a lovely, spicey and elegant texture. I’m getting blackcurrants and lots of chocolate!

  • Chateau d’Or et de Gueules ‘Les Cimels’ Rose Organic

The new 2022 vintage is just in and just as good as ever. Worth the wait, I’d say….A blend of Cinsault and Mourvedre this is as close to a classic Provence Rose as you can get without actually coming from Provence. Well, the estate is just over the border.

Organic, vegan, rich, full, soft, fresh…..

. Fermented straight from the press, no extra skin contact!
    Previous vintages all won accolades;

Best Roses 2016 – Sunday Express.
“With a pale salmon pink colour this attractive rose is bright and zippy but also has some warm, savoury spiciness. There’s a lively twist to it and it would make a fine partner for food.” Sunday Express
“Irresistible. Pink Summer classic.” – SundayTimes
Recommended previously also in The Sunday Times as a “party wine that won’t give you a headache.” They can’t all be wrong, can they’ The colour is so lovely I could happily just look at it let alone drink it. Forget the old, sweet unfashionable rosés of the past; this is a dry, refreshing blend of predominantly Grenache, with Syrah and Mourvèdre which has no oak aging. Deliciously thirst-quenching, strawberry fruit flavours. You will not want to put it down.

  • Chateau Lamothe-Vincent, Bordeaux Blanc Heritage, France

Gold medals at Lyon and Los Angeles (also Best in Class)

Now we have the full range of Lamothe-Vincent’s great Bordeaux wines. This is an unusual blend of sauvignon Gris and Sauvignon Blanc which has been aged in barrels for a brief time and the resultant wine is full and rich but not obviously oaky. Lovely food wine, but also great on its own. This new 2021 vintage is just fantastic!

  • Chateau Lamothe-Vincent, Bordeaux Merlot Intense, France

Gold Medals at Brussels, Lyon and Gilbert & Gaillard.

The classic Bordeaux blend, of course, is Cabernet/Merlot, and here we have a classic indeed. However, it’s Merlot dominated but with a rare 30% Cabernet Franc. Rich and very well-structured fruit.

  • Chateau Lamothe-Vincent, Bordeaux Rouge Libertae Sulphur-Free, France

Gold Medal at Terre de Vins

With 75% rich, supple, smooth Merlot backed-up by (frankly rare) Malbec this sulphur-free addition to The Lamothe-Vincent range  yet again breaks new ground.

First of all it’s just simply a really good claret! But the work needed to allow a fine wine to show its best without the addition of any SO2 at all is a testament to the skills of the winemaker and the philosophy whch runs through the Chateau from top to bottom.

  • Jeff Carrel, La Tire Fitou, France

    Why La Tire?
Because « La Tire » is French slang for “the car”,  and obviously the 2CV is symbolic of French automobiles and was first launched in 1948, the same year the AOP Fitou appellation came into existence. Drive my good man!

    60% 50 year-old Carignan vines  / 40% Syrah

Jeff’s notes are; “Intense notes of blueberries, blackberries, pepper, liquid violets and scrubland, with delicate tannins and a nice crisp acidity. Plenty of freshness and tension.”
