  • Abbotts & Delaunay Minervois

    A blend of Syrah, Carignan and Grenache which really showcases one of the Languedoc’s fine range of regional appellations. 40% of the handpicked grapes are aged in oak following fermentation. The result is a fat, structured red but it’s not “in your face” it’s really very nicely balanced.

  • Ultime Recolte by Jeff Carrel

    I last shipped Ultime Recolte several years ago when it was a late harvest Viognier dessert wine. It’s now a Muscat.

  • Villa des Anges Cabernet Reserve (Jeff again)

    One of those wines which make you stop in your wine-tasting tracks. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon has been aged for 14 months in tanks with oak staves (!) before bottling. It’s enough to make you wonder whether or not you want to buy expensive claret again!

  • A Vue de Nez (no added sulphur) by Jeff Carrel Organic Red

    Firstly – organic and with no added sulphur. Secondly – it’s a lovely smooth and fruity expression of grassy Cabernet Franc with a dollop of Syrah to beef it up. Also it has a clutch of Gold Medals and 90/100 from American Wine Guru Robert Parker.

  • “The Manchu Bride” Muscat from The Treaty Port Estate China

    From a vineyard established in 2005 on the Shandong peninsula by Chris Ruffle comes this crisp Muscat with a hint of sweetness, which won gold medal at the China Wine & Spirit Awards in Hong Kong. The 2018 vintage produced a high quality juice which was cold-fermented to retain the floral, lychee character of the wine. Drink chilled with seafood? Or just on its own.

  • Verus Muskateller (Muscat) Slovenia

    Lovely floral scents of muscat and orange. I urge you to try it with maybe a citrus pudding, or just on its own.

  • Verus Furmint, Slovenia

    Each year the wonderful people at Verus produce consistently dazzling, pure, clean, fruity, mouthwatering wines.

    One previous vintage was selected as Top 25 Whites for Christmas 2012 by Jancis Robinson MW Financial Times. But there are many more such recommendations.

  • Verus Pinot Gris, Slovenia

    Yet another of that triumverate’s great wines. If you thought all Pinot Grigio was thin cheap and Italian, think again! This is rich, with pure, clean fruit and a lovely vibrant zestiness. Highly recommended.
    Pinot Gris has a slightly pinkish flesh which can go darker in very hot years. 2016 was just one such year and you will notice a slightly pink hue to the wine. More industrial producers might “intervene” to strip the colour out, but at Verus they rightly celebrate the variations of the vintages!

  • Verus Riesling, Slovenia

    Previous vintages much recommended. Such as;
    The Guardian’s Fiona Beckett’s Best Bottles to take on a picnic;
    “I love the fragrant, floral Verus Riesling from Slovenia – that’s one for sipping while you dabble your feet in a stream. It’s one of the excellent range of the same producer’s aromatic wines imported by The Real Wine Company.”
    This particular varietal is a favourite of mine. Gets even better with a year or two bottle age.

  • Verus Sauvignon Blanc, Slovenia

    Verus wines need little commentary. They are all superb, demonstrating what Jancis Robinson called “a purity of fruit” when we shipped their first ever vintage in 2008. Few more than this pure, dry, fruity Sauvignon Blanc.
