  • Verus Riesling, Slovenia

    Previous vintages much recommended. Such as;
    The Guardian’s Fiona Beckett’s Best Bottles to take on a picnic;
    “I love the fragrant, floral Verus Riesling from Slovenia – that’s one for sipping while you dabble your feet in a stream. It’s one of the excellent range of the same producer’s aromatic wines imported by The Real Wine Company.”
    This particular varietal is a favourite of mine. Gets even better with a year or two bottle age.

  • Verus Sauvignon Blanc, Slovenia

    Verus wines need little commentary. They are all superb, demonstrating what Jancis Robinson called “a purity of fruit” when we shipped their first ever vintage in 2008. Few more than this pure, dry, fruity Sauvignon Blanc.

  • Esona Single Vineyard Boutique Sauvignon Blanc

    Pronounced “Air-Sor-Na” this Sauvignon Blanc is the best one I have tasted since we first shipped Zoetendal seven years ago! (remember that?) There is tiny production, just 9250 vines (2.66 hectares). Lovely rich, fat style which has developed into an almost Chablis-like minerality. Great food wine.

  • Dans l’Air du Temps Chardonnay by Jeff Carrel

    One of Jeff’s self-proclaimed top five wines (of his own). Soft, rich, buttery Chardonnay but just a hint of oak, most comforting.

  • Du Plevaux Pinotage South Africa

    New vintage of  “a hidden gem” ( Platter’s 2016) just back in stock. A masculine Pinotage with a rich dark plum colour, complemented by a structured palate of coffee, chocolate & black berries which support the long soft finish. A minimal five months in barrels make it fruit-driven rather than too oaky.

  • Casabel Portuguese Red

    BACK IN. This is a soft, yet well-structured, unoaked red from the Lisbon Region. If the Cerejeiras is defined by easy fruit, this has a bit more oomph, so will take richer food. It has lovely clean fruit character.

  • Chateau Lamothe-Vincent Bordeaux Superieur Heritage Red

    The classic Bordeaux blend, of course, is Cabernet/Merlot, and here we have a classic indeed, but with 80% Merlot. Very St-Emilion-esque! Multiple-Gold-Medal winner, this “Heritage” cuvee has been aged in French oak barrels for 12 months and is quite simply as typical a claret as you could wish for at a very affordable price. • “The Prince” from The Treaty Port Estate China

    From a vineyard established in 2005 on the Shandong peninsula by Chris Ruffle comes his unique, gold-medal winning, Petit Verdot/Arinarnoa blend.  Gently oaky, this is a lovely clean, velvety red from one of the world’s new emerging vineyard areas. The Prince rather liked braised pork and Beijing roast duck, could go rather well with this wine!
