One of Jeff’s self-declared Top Five. This is Sur Lit (“sur lie”, geddit?)….100% Carignan Blanc and non-filtered leaving the lees in the bottle. Jeff wants you to shake the bottle to stir up the lees.The result is a cloudy wine with loads of leesy aromas. Normally a light flavoured wine such as a Muscadet is left on its lees in tank for a while, stirred occasionally to get the extra lees flavour but then filtered bright. Worth a punt, don’t you think?
