Diane’s super new 2014 vintage is one she considers the best in the last five years.
Previous vintages RECOMMENDED IN THE OBSERVER. The 2009 vintage displays a beautiful balance and is as good a white from the south of France as you will see anywhere. 50% of the blend is barrel-fermented Roussanne; the rest is unoaked Grenache Blanc and Rolle. It is a rich wine with an excellent balance of oak and will be perfect with your Sunday roast. Drink now to end 2018

This is the epitome of champagne. If Marc Chauvet’s non-vintage Brut Tradition is all that is good about everyday champagne drinking (if such a thing even exists!) with 4 years before disgorging, then this 2009 vintage has spent 6 years before disgorging and is simply a delightfully elegant and silky top bottle of champagne. You would have to spend a lot more money (probably £75-100) to find a wine as good as this with a famous name!

The second of our new wines just arrived in from Christiana at Carneiro Estate. This is 100% Alvarinho but still classified as Vinho Verde. It is fuller and rounder than the classic blend VV, but that’s Alvarinho for you! Bags of easy fruit and a great summery wine to enjoy on its own or with light foods.
