2nd Wine of Advent
| By the third day of December, winter is really arriving. The nights are long, and a wine that feels like a sea breeze is just what we crave. That’s why we’ve chosen Jeff Carrel Piquepoul Blanc for today’s Advent gift. This wine has an attractive pale-yellow colour with green highlights. On the nose, you’ll find powerful aromas of citrus fruit and grapefruit. On the palate, it’s salty, with an iodized minerality that’s mouth-watering, finishing long and bright. Jeff ferments in stainless steel, preserving purity of fruit — there's no heavy-handed oak or added weight. The result is an elegant, refined wine that feels both vibrant and soothing. For December 3rd, pour a glass after a brisk evening stroll, or with a simple seafood supper. Think oysters, grilled prawns, or a lemony fish dish. This wine has that coastal lightness, even when snow threatens outside. |
