First Day of Advent.
| There’s something quietly magical about the first day of December. The air feels colder, but there’s a sense of newness – like the world is holding its breath. For this reason, we open our Advent journey with Luz Vinho Verde from the Carneiro Estate in northern Portugal. Made from 100% Loureiro grapes, this wine glows with a pale citrus hue and offers delicate floral aromas. There’s that characteristic Vinho Verde spritz, though it softens after a few swirls in the glass. The cold fermentation in stainless steel, and the lack of oak or malolactic, keep it wonderfully fresh, clean, and vibrant. It’s a wine that feels like an early winter morning: bright, crisp, hopeful. Pair it with light seafood, pasta, or white meat — exactly the kinds of food this wine was made for. |
