This is the epitome of champagne. If Marc Chauvet’s non-vintage Brut Tradition is all that is good about everyday champagne drinking (if such a thing even exists!) with 4 years before disgorging, then this 2009 vintage has spent 6 years before disgorging and is simply a delightfully elegant and silky top bottle of champagne. You would have to spend a lot more money (probably £75-100) to find a wine as good as this with a famous name!

One of Diane’s 100% varietal wines showcasing the best of the region’s local varieties.
Previous vintages constantly written up including Decanter Magazine who gave it four stars: “This mainly Mourvèdre wine is on rocking good form.” 100% Mourvedre from 80 year old vines. This has a beautifully spicy nose with a scent of violets and a palate so rich you would almost think this it was a sweet wine! Decant and drink now or cellar for 10 years! Roast Beef never found a better partner!

Verus Furmint, Slovenia
Each year the wonderful people at Verus produce consistently dazzling, pure, clean, fruity, mouthwatering wines.
One previous vintage was selected as Top 25 Whites for Christmas 2012 by Jancis Robinson MW Financial Times. But there are many more such recommendations.
Furmint (aka Tokay in Hungary) can produce sweet wines, but here it’s dry and fruity and bang on line with the rest of the range from Verus. That is to say “A no-brainer”

It’s difficult to find new words for a new wine from Diane as they are all just soooo good! This is no exception; rich with fruit and depth of colour with elegant balance. Drink now to 2029.
