Prosecco Colli Trevigiani Sacchetto
Recommended in the Daily Telegraph: “highly drinkable, a great pick-me-up.”
Perfect party wine! Selected here to be a very different alternative to Champagne in every way; it is semi-sparkling so does not attract the higher Sparkling Duty rate. Prosecco grape is very much a light, fruity, versatile wine. Perfect also as a pre-dinner aperitif. Paolo Sacchetto’s Estate in the north east of Italy produces a range of wines, but this Prosecco is the one which stood out for me. Dry and fruity.Other Single Varietal WhiteSparklingItaly750 ml11%-12.5%

Domaine de Cray Cremant de Loire
I went to the Wine Fair in Paris in February to hunt out a Loire Sauvignon Blanc. After much tasting found a firm favourite in Domaine de Cray. As luck would have it, they also produce this very smart fizz. Made by the “Champagne” method with two years’ aging on the lees before disgorging.White BlendsSparklingFranceVarious750 ml11%-12.5%

Champagne Marc Chauvet Brut Tradition
Really! Honestly! Go no farther than Marc Chauvet for your Champagne. If you don’t want to spend £27.50, then try Blanquette de Limoux, but please don’t resort to cheap Champagne!
To my mind Clotilde’s latest cuvee is her best yet! Soft, full, biscuity and long-lasting (in the palate, that is – I suspect the bottle will be polished off very quickly!)
o 1/3 each Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier
o 2/3 2015 vintage, 1/3 reserve wine
o Dosage 12gms
o Disgorged in after 3 years sur lattes
Previous years’ accolades;

A previous cuvee was also in Oz Clarke’s 250 Best Wines of 2011: “a fascinating wine,” and recommended by Victoria Moore in The Daily Telegraph November 2010: “delicious.”
and recommended in The Guardian May 2010: “impressive.”Mixed BlendSparklingFrance750 ml11%-12.5%
