Perfect party wine! Selected here to be a very different alternative to Champagne in every way; it is semi-sparkling so does not attract the higher Sparkling Duty rate. Prosecco grape is very much a light, fruity, versatile wine. Perfect also as a pre-dinner aperitif. Paolo Sacchetto’s Estate in the north east of Italy produces a range of wines, but this Prosecco is the one which stood out for me. Dry and fruity.Add fields here

The year : 80% of the SELECTION comes from the 2007 harvest with 20% reserve wine from 2006. 5 years bottle ageing on lees.
Recommended by Jancis Robinson in The Financial Times November 2010: “A substantial wine…very direct, quite complex, confident attack. Tight bead. Zesty and very fresh.”
Recommended in Oz Clarke’s 2010 250 Best Wines; “This has a full, rollicking, jolly quality to it, hedonism to the fore, a big smile on your face, optimism in your eyes, and all the typical champagne flavours a bit exaggerated…..”

Chateau d’Or et de Gueules, Qu’es a Quo? Carignan, FranceOne of Diane’s 100% varietal wines showcasing the best of the local varieties. Made from 100% Carignan grapes from very old vines and aged in barrels for eight months. It’s difficult to find new words for a new wine from Diane as they are all just soooo good! This is no exception; rich with fruit and depth of colour with elegant balance. Drink now to 2029.
